bgmc-buddy_web I was on the phone Monday with David Boyd, our national BGMC director, about the launch of http://www.bgmckids.ag.org/.  It’s a great website for kids to educate them about missions.

There are games, and missionary stories, activities.  It is an important link for kids to have in their bookmarks.    Maybe you can sponsor a contest for kids to explore the website. Read more: New Websites!!

Developing our pastors will continue to be a priority for the Wisconsin/ Northern Michigan District.

We have a variety of pastors throughout our district who serve in various capacities.  In order to serve our pastors, our first priority is to walk alongside.   Do ministry together.   Although see the district office as a resource center, we recognize the greatest resource we may offer is our abililty to be there for the pastor.  That is our desire and our design.  It is our intention to be out where the ministry happens - the local church.   If we can come alongside and partner with you, we would be honored.

Aside from direct partnership, we provide training throughout the district in various forms.

1.  Next Level Workshops -  These workshops are designed to offer a one day training in an area of need.   Our next workshop will  be held on March 23rd and 24th in New Berlin and Plover.  The title of the workshop is "Understanding and Navigating Church Size and Life Cycle."   You can visit the webpage for more information.  Next Level Webpage

2.  Leadership Development Networks - At present we offer 3 locations throughout the state that emphasize church life.   We are presently utilizing Dr. Mel Ming's materials through Leadership Development Resources.   This is a two-year process.  A second group of networks will launch in September 2010.  Watch the website for upcoming details.

3.  Volunteer Development -  We will offer throughout the course of the year various training opportunities for volunteer development.    There are basically two tracks involving volunteer development.  The first is training and equipping the leader and the second is training and equipping the volunteer.  We will continue to target both areas of development.   Our next event is the Oneday Leadership Training event on September 25, 2010.   Training will be offered at multiple locations throughout the state for those who lead and teach children.  From nursery workers, small group leaders, Royal Ranger leaders, children's church workers, Girl's ministry leaders, this workshop will be designed for you.   We will be posting more information and a registration brochure as the date approaches.
