plungephotoThe first of two Polar Plunge are complete.  It was quite a day.  On February 4th 2010 I jumped in the frigid waters of Table Rock Lake and joined 4 others who reached their goals.   It was a great day.   Last year our National BGMC Director David Boyd challenged us to rasie over 6 million dollars for BGMC.   In Wisconsin/No. Michigan last year we raised just over $85,000.   So with great faith we decided that $125,000 would be an unbelievable achievement.

The challenge was that if we raised the amount we would take a polar plunge in Table Rock Lake.   So the great faith part of our adventure was that $125,000 was probably a safe amount.  I wouldn't be taking a plunge unless of course the kids of WNMD just did great.

Well by the picture you know they did GREAT!

The kids of WNMD raised over $127,000.   What a wonderful accomplishment.  I was blessed to take the plunge for them.  And let me tell you it was cold.  My feet were VERY numb.

Since we made our goal we were challenged to continue the momentum that has been generated this year.  Alton Garrison our Assistant General Superintendent is not a fan of roller coasters.   He has agreed to ride the scariest roller coaster in America if BGMC tops 6.25 million dollars.   I have agreed to join brother Garrison if the boys and girls of Wisconsin/No. Michigan raise $150,000.

This is going to take a great effort, but I believe the boys and girls are up to the challenge.   We are so blessed to know that missionaries all over the globe are being equipped through BGMC.

This year we have another great challenge in front of us.   As most of you are aware of the earthquake that destroyed much of Haiti.   Well, Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge (BGMC) has partnered with Convoy of Hope to bring relief to those who have need in that country.  Daily they are feeding thousands of people.  They are also providing wells that help deliver safe drinking water.   These are huge needs.   This month we are challenging churches to give to BGMC and designate their giving to Convoy of Hope.  It is needed.  Do all you can.

Finally, if you have time go over to http://www.oneyellowbarrel.com at this site you can offer trades for a genuine BGMC yellow barrel.  Each trade will be traded up and at the end of the year we will give the proceeds to BGMC.  Check it out.  Also, at this site we are hosting our Polar Plunge videos.  You'll want to check them out there.
